Having undertaken his higher tertiary paediatric endocrinology training at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, with additional experience completing the RCPCH Special Interest (SPIN) in Diabetes in large regional district general hospitals, Jonathan has considerable experience across general endocrinology & diabetes, including subspeciality regional & national quaternary care in Congenital Hyperinsulinism (NORCHI), Metabolic Bone Disease, DSD, Syndromic & rare genetic endocrine conditions, Oncology & late effects, and rare and complex Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism services.
He is an active member of BSPED, having peer reviewed and co-authored updates to the new version of the BSPED DKA calculator, and currently undertaking a review of the use of GnRH analogues to optimise linear growth to develop a national guidance document to support colleagues in clinical decision making as part of the BSPED Growth Diseases Special Interest Group. He is also active in local & regional networks, and regularly facilitates and presents as part of teaching and education programmes and across the North West, with particular interest in growth & development, puberty, differences in sexual development and gender identity.
